found anywhere. W. Michigan is blessed with insect rich and fish filled
rivers that are available to the fly fisher year round. The angling
opportunities change with the seasons. Spring and summer offer traditional
dry fly fishing as well as streamer and nymph fishing for heavy shouldered
rainbow and brown trout. Fall brings trophy Pacific salmon on their
annual spawning run from September through October. Fall steelhead follow
and are fished from mid October through December. Winter steelheading
available from mid-December through February, using deep water nymphing
and streamer techniques. Spring brings with it spawning run steelhead
and enormous hatches of mayflies, caddis and stoneflies that trout sip,
chase and slash at providing excellent dry fly fishing.
