The Fly Guide Service – Guide Jeff Bacon.
Jeff Bacon started fly fishing in 1974, when he and his father Ron went west
to visit dad’s college buddy in southwest Montana. It was on the banks
of the Big Hole River that his first Grayling was caught, knots learned and skills
began to develop that would serve him well in the years ahead. Through high school,
college and beyond, the draw of the river never lost its appeal, in fact…..it
grew stronger.
After
many years of retail life, time came for a change and the new chapter
began as a fly fishing guide on various rivers of W. Michigan. Jeff
now guides a number of rivers, including the Grand, Rogue, Flat,
White, Pere Marquette and Manistee, but calls the Muskegon River “home”.
Through
years of learning, Jeff now teaches what others have been kind enough
to share over the years. An FFF Certified Casting Instructor, he
has instructed on various tactics and techniques used to chase numerous
warm and coldwater species of fish. From the delicate presentation
of a # 18 BWO, to roll casting an “indi-rig” or stripping
rodent size streamers on 8 weight rods, most tactics have been tried,
are true and can be taught.
From individual
instruction to group outings, most any request can be accommodated,
please call or email for more details.
